COVID-19 Office Procedures


Keeping Everyone Safe


Dear patients and friends,

       My office will be opening on May 4 to begin serving you once again.  While it has been great seeing your faces and communicating with you through our texting platform, I’m ready to see you in person.  It’s time to resume progress on your treatment.  Because the safety of my patients and my team is paramount, we will be following all the guidelines and recommendations being set forth by the CDC and the Louisiana Department of Health.  For the foreseeable future, things will be a bit different in the office, but it will be OK.  This will certainly pass.  In the meantime, the most important changes of which you should be aware are as follows:


  1. Before Arriving for Your Appointment

    1. We will email or text you the following 2 forms that must be signed

      1. COVID-19 Informed Consent 

      2. Patient Health Questionnaire

    2. Please bring the signed forms with you to your appointment (This must be done only one time)

    3. Alternatively, you may email ( or text (985.809.9555) the signed forms to us

  2. Upon Arriving to Your Appointment

    1. Please text or call us when you arrive

      1. We will let you know when to enter the office

      2. We ask that ONLY the patient enter the office (This does not apply to new patients/consultations)

        1. If your child is anxious about being alone, we ask that ONLY ONE family member/guardian accompany the patient. This family member MUST be wearing a mask (please bring one of your own).

  3. Upon Entering the Office

    1. Our entire team will be wearing face masks.  We kindly ask anyone entering the office to wear a face mask.  Please bring one of your own.

    2. There will be a limited number of chairs in the reception area so as to reduce the number of people in the office.

    3. The following areas will be closed:

      1. Game Room

      2. Toothbrushing Area (please brush beforehand)

    4. The patient will be asked to use hand sanitizer that we will provide

    5. The patient’s temperature will be measured with a contactless thermometer

      1. If the patient presents with fever or any other relevant symptoms, we will escort the patient back to his/her vehicle and reschedule his/her appointment

    6. In the absence of symptoms, the patient will be escorted to a treatment chair

    7. All treatment notes are now electronic, so there will no longer be any transferring or handling of paper charts

  4. After Treatment Has Been Rendered

    1. The patient will be dismissed

      1. Unfortunately, we will do so without high fives, fist bumps, or hugs (for now, anyway)

    2. The patient may then exit the office (we will ensure that the patient makes it to his/her vehicle safely)

      1. There is no need to stop at the front desk at this time

  5. Scheduling Your Next Appointment

    1. After the patient’s appointment is completed, we will contact you via phone or text in order to schedule the patient’s next appointment


       I want to sincerely thank all of you for your patience and understanding as we work through these processes.  We are working really hard in order to make things as convenient for you as possible, while also ensuring the safety of my patients and my team.  Please also know that what brings me joy in my profession is the social nature of it.  Sure, I love seeing all the smiles that we’re able to transform.  Who wouldn’t?  But it’s the conversations, the high fives, the fist bumps, the hugs, and the friendships that bring so much value to my life.  You guys have no idea how much I appreciate and value each and every one of you.  So, I look forward to a day in the near future when we will all be returning to something much more normal.  In the meantime, we will continue to do what needs to be done.  We will continue to serve you.  We will continue to make awesome smiles!
